HVAF Equipment

Kinetic surface technology shall promote Kermetico HVAF technology along with equipment, accessories and spares. The basic equipment consists of a coating gun –AK, C and S type, Control console, Vaporizer, Fuel pressurizing pump, powder feeder, and necessary connecting hoses and cables .AK type of guns are operated in only HVAF mode whereas C type of guns can work in both HVAF and HVOF mode . S –type of guns are mainly developed for low melting point materials and to achieve oxidation free with coatings similar to those of cold sprayed ones. Four major takeaways of HVAF technology is

• Coating properties are equivalent or exceeding to existing HVOF process (Liquid /Gaseous)
• As sprayed surface roughness of coated layer is half of that obtained by HVOF process and in some cases does not invite any grinding operation
• Hot grit blasting eliminates human intervention in comparison to manual grit blasting along with techno economical features
• Flash carbide by HVAF process is a novel approach to replace the electrolytic hard chrome plating
